Personality - Ying Yue is a lot like her older brother, Wei Wuxian: possesses an energetic and mischiveous personality with little for rules and decorum. She enjoys teasing others and flirting with boys. Beneath her carefree attitude however, Ying Yue, however cares deeply for her friends and family.
Like her late mother and brother Wuxian, she also enjoys laughing a lot and overall isn´t afraid of expressing her emotions or opinions, wether it being sadness, anger, happiness, annoyance or a sassy remarking.

Relationship with them:
Father - Ying Yue was merely a baby, when her parents died in a car accident. All she knows about him - from her brother´s few memories of him - was that he was always silent, preferring trust over talking
Mother - Like with her father, she lost her before she could really get to know her. From what others have told her, she has a similar personality to her, which made Ying Yue feeling slightly closer to her.
Martial Uncle - Jiang Fengmian took Ying Yue and her brother under his care, when Ying Yue was 4 years old and treated her like his own daughter. Whilst she always addresses her as "uncle", she sees him more like a father to her and he was always supportive of her choices.
Martial Aunt - Unlike with her martial uncle, Ying Yue tries to avoid Yu Ziyuan or Madame Yu as much as she can, due to her harsh and demeanor personality. Yu Ziyuan would often scold - and sometimes even hit her, though not hard -, which made Ying Yue distant from her.
Yanli - Ying Yue´s senior sister, Jiang Yanli, is probably the closest thing Ying Yue has ever had as a mother figure. Yanli was very caring towards Ying Yue and the two were extremely close. The two would also spend relatively more time together, and Yanli taught her how to cook. The two don't tolerate any insults towards each other and stick up for each other and their brothers like lions.
Wuxian - The first person she ever knew and also her only biological family member. Before being adopted by the Yunmeng Jiang family, the two lived as street kids and Wuxian would take care of her, by finding her food and make sure she was safe. Wuxian would also be the one who taught her cool tricks and pranks, as well as how to flirt with boys. He was very protective of her and the two stood up for each other and were fully supportive off each other.
Wanyin - Unlike Ying Yue´s other siblings, Wanyin was bad-tempered, like his mother. However, he cared deeply for his family and was especially protective towards Ying Yue. He would often reprimand her for her recklessness, he would also express horror and anger at the idea of Ying Yue getting hurt, willing to fight for her safety. Likewise she would sacrifice herself for him.

Baoshan Sanren - She rarely sees her. She is from Yueyang, Hunan province and is a legendary Chinese business woman. Sanren had adopted 3 children, one of them being Ying Yue´s mother. She admires her, despite never meeting her.
Daoren - He was deceased before Ying Yue and her brother were even born. She has no connection with him whatsoever.
Xingchen - Xingchen is only 5 years older than her and Ying Yue sees him to be more like a cousin, than an uncle to her. He is originally from Yueyang, Hunan province, however he lives in Shanghai just like Ying Yue does and the two share and apartment, where he takes care of her and she takes care of him (he is blind).
Wangji - Since he is a man of few words, Ying Yue doesn´t talk very often to him. To begin with, she used to find him quite annoying and also boring due to his obedient and stoic personality. But once she found out the relationship between him and her brother, she cared unconditionally for him and respects him highly.
Lan Xichen - At family gatherings, she will sometimes stroll around with him and talk to him. She admires him.
Jin Zixuan - Like with Wangji, she disliked him to begin with. She hates arrogant people, and that´s what he was. He however became less like that as they grew older and Ying Yue tolerated him more.
Jin Guangyao - She HATES his pretentious and cunning personality. Before knowing his true colors, she stood up for him once, when she caught him getting bullied.
Jin Ling - He is only 2 years old and Ying Yue cares a lot about him. She will babysit him, whenever she can.
Sizhui - He is the adopted son of Wuxian and Wangji. She cares equally much about him and babysits him as well.

Background story:
Wei Ying Yue was born in the prefecture-level city Yichang in western Hubei-province in People´s Republic of China. She was born as the second child and only daughter of a servant known as Wei Changze and his wife, Cangse Sanren who was almost graduating from university as a lawyer. Unfortunately they died in a car accident, so Ying Yue and her only 5 year old older brother, Wei Wuxian were lefted orphanaged. Ying Yue has no personal memories of them. For 4 years the two lived on the streets of Yichang together. Whilst Ying Yue was still a baby, Wuxian would provide for her, however when Ying Yue turned 3 she started helping him finding food etc. The two would also fight with dogs against food and Ying Yue has a strong dislike for them.

Ying Yue and her brother were eventually found when she was 4 years old, by one of their father´s old friends, whom he also used to serve for; A businessman named Jiang Fengmian. As soon as they came to Lotus Pier, their mansion in Yunmeng county, Ying Yue fell asleep in Yanli´s arm, whom she then shared room with.
Once she woke up, she had three senior siblings and she felt such a strong bond to all three of them.

Ying Yue was mainly educated at home, until high school, were she attended a high school in Xiaogan city, near Yunmeng. Once she finished high school, she moved to Shanghai were she continued her education at Ming De University.
Whilst in Shanghai, she lived with her martial uncle in his luxury apartment alongside his three roommates: Xue Yang, Song Lan and A-Qing. A-Qing happened also happened to study at Ming De Academy and so did Wen Mingmei, who both became Ying Yue´s best friends.
